While the race is over, and Joshua Rodgers lost, he'd like to extend his appreciation to all those who voted for him!
NOTE: Since the race is over now, this site will return to the original format for his writings and other things within the month.
A number of the political things may remain, and will be made available as an archive virtually indefinitely -- just not on the main page.
Something kind of new he'd like to get going (it would end up being self-sustaining): community gardens. Simple really, city allocates X amount of space,
and they rent out the space in plots (ex:10x10) per year/growing season.
He stil wants....
- wants everyone's opinions to be heard and taken into account (no matter who they know or how much money they have)
- wants what the people want done, to be done, even if the elected person would prefer something else
- wants people to be able to call, write, e-mail or show up in person to town meetings -- and have their comments read, acknowledged and considered before decisions are made (and be personally told of the decision)
- wants all elected officials to be accountable for everything they do for the town
- wants every meeting to be recorded and provided online for people do download (or possibly listen to live)
- wants transcripts of all meetings to be provided for anyone needing them, and have a sign-language person available for meetings (or live video) if requested
- wants all forms that are available to the public to be available online for download, and in a standard format (PDF)
- wants to bring in good paying jobs that don't involve assembly line, hard labor, or special outfits to do
- wants to let people ride bicycles in town and actually have places to park them while shopping
- wants to have flat sidewalks beside every road, so people can go from point A to point B by sidewalk if walking, jogging, wearing heels, in a wheelchair, or even blind and not have problems
- wants to make the Robinson and the other towns in the county to act as one on some things, to help better the life of residents in all towns
- has ideas to bring in tourism that could bring in thousands of people more each year
